ATX FACIAL MASSAGE
WORKSHOPS

I'm ready - take me straight to enrollment!

Why take a nervous system-focused approach?

It's all about the vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve interacts with the entire body, sending messages about whether we are safe enough to rest and helping the body to shift into a parasympathetic state. We need the body to feel safe enough to allow the parasympathetic shift to happen because that is the state where healing takes place.

Every time we touch someone we have the opportunity to impact the nervous system... and if we are not careful, we can trigger a survival response. The result is agitation, anxiety, tense muscles, a clenched jaw and a body that will not prioritize cellular function (amongst other things).

The goal is to understand how the vagus nerve works and take a gentle approach to touch work. Every single step we take is evaluated and performed from the perspective of the vagus nerve and what it might interpret. By doing this, we can harness our powers of intention and encourage full body, mind + spirit healing.

Who are these workshops good for?

I find that the students I attract are 1) interested in providing more holistic care to their clients and 2) often consider themselves (and the clientele they attract) to be highly sensitive. This is why my trainings focus on taking a whole body approach and always consider the nervous system, even for the attendees. Every detail is considered to ensure everyone feels safe throughout their experience.

Workshops are open to anyone who is licensed (or in a licensing program) to work on the face. This includes...

✦ Estheticians
✦ Massage Therapists
✦ Cosmetologists

You do not need previous facial massage experience or to consider yourself a holistic practitioner - I have trained from brand new esthetics students to clinical/medical spa estheticians to massage therapists and hair stylists who have never worked with the face... All you need is to be curious and willing to learn.

Hi, I'm Bethany.

I have been an educator for about 15 years and there is no part of cosmetology or esthetics I haven't taught (or worked in) during that time.

For the last few years, I have been exploring the intersection between spirituality, healing, touch work and the beauty industry... and, to be honest, exploring the trauma I have experienced from being a part of the beauty industry and living in a capitalist society.

I know that many of us feel burnt out, exhausted and frustrated with the narratives we experience daily on social media, at work or with clients. It will take a lot of re-programming and deconstructing narratives to shift our perspectives and heal our traumatized nervous systems, and I want to be a part of that change.

About Intraoral Massage Certification

Intraoral (also called buccal) massage is a key element to sculpting the face because so many of the muscles we use to make facial expressions live in this area. These muscles are integral to making the intricate micro-expressions that communicate emotion, and in result they store an immense amount of memory and tension. They are surrounded by fascia, fat pads, lymph vessels, nerve fibers and other structures that keep the skin healthy.

If the muscles or fascia become restricted due to repetitive motion, the result is wrinkles at rest (aka the deep lines we associate with aging). But even more concerning is the restriction of fluid movement resulting in malnourished, unhealthy tissues.

Intraoral massage is not only incredibly relaxing, it is an important step in smoothing the fascia and creating space in the tissues - it literally works from the inside out.

The Fine Print:

All sessions include certificates upon completion, digital manuals and videos to access at your convenience. Digital content is provided with lifetime access!

These offerings have been intentionally priced to be affordable, as my goal has always been to provide quality training to all those who are curious and reduce financial barriers that prevent access to knowledge and community.
